“We are from Nigeria” answers the mother politely, but the pious women aren’t listening all taken by the beautiful baby, passed from hand to hand like a doll.
” How cute!”, “Like chocolate!”, “Oh, just the colour of skin I’d like to have in Summer!” “Come back tomorrow and I’ll give you some stuff for the baby.”
Oh! Charitable ladies! and then after the mother leaves ”Gee.. how would I like to take the baby home! and I’d change her clothing and everything, but first of all I’d wash her properly!” – and that’s when I vomit a bit inside my mouth.
